Man murdered in Austin Texas Entertainment District

Date: Monday, September 3, 2012
Location: 600 block of Neches
Deceased: Matthew Casey, White male, (D. O. B. 08-26-1977)
Narrative: On Monday, September 3, 2012 at 12:48 a.m., Austin Police responded to a person down call at the 600 block of Neches St. The responding officer was initially flagged down by witnesses and directed to an injured male.
It is believed that the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with a male and female. The victim collapsed to the ground after being punched, striking his head against the pavement. Mr. Casey was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. On Monday, September 10, 2012 at 6:20 p.m., Mr. Casey died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the assault. On September 12, 2012, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Officer ruled Casey’s death a Homicide.
Detectives are looking for the following persons:
Suspect #1:
White Male Approx. mid-20s 5’6” to 5’8” Thin build Short hair He has tattoos on his chest, upper arms and upper back and a possibly has a tattoo of the word “TEXAS” in large block letters across his upper back. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a light colored logo, long black shorts with a black shirt tucked into a back pocket and dark colored tennis shoes.
Suspect #2:
White female Approx. mid-20s 5’6” to 5’8” Athletic build She was last seen wearing a white baseball cap with small logo with her hair pulled into a ponytail, light colored tennis shoes, a pink & blue jumper (shorts) outfit with a single strap over her right shoulder. The outfit was predominately pink with blue across the left side of the chest.

Four people shot in Austin Texas entertainment district

from ynn: 4 people shot in Downtown Austin overnight By: YNN Staff 4 people shot in Downtown Austin overnight Four people, two men and two women, were shot in Downtown Austin’s entertainment district last night. According to police, the two women were shot near the intersection of San Jacinto and East Sixth streets around 2:30 a.m. Both were transported to a hospital with non-serious injuries. Two additional victims, both male, were later located. One had taken himself to a South Austin hospital and the other was found near East Seventh Street and Interstate 35. Police said neither had life-threatening injuries. Police do not have a suspect in custody. We’ll keep this story updated with the latest details as they are released.
