Location: Wells Fargo, 2326 South Congress Avenue
Narrative:
On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Austin Police officers responded to a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank, 2326 South Congress Avenue.
A preliminary investigation shows that a male entered the bank and demanded cash. The suspect left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect is identified as Christopher Parker, White male, (D. O. B. 12-13-58).
He is being charged with Robbery by Threat, a 2nd Degree Felony.
This case remains under investigation by APD Robbery detectives. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” + your message to CRIMES. You may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed. This is the fifth bank robbery of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were nine bank robberies.
