Shootings reported in front of Empire State Building
A gunman believed to be responsible in the shooting of at least five people in front of the Empire State Building in New York was shot and killed by police, New York police said.
Authorities converged on the building around 9 a.m. after reports of gunfire.
A witness told that the gunman ran after and shot a man in the head. An unarmed guard chased the gunman away.
Additional details were not immediately available.
A dispute between coworkers exploded into gunfire outside the Empire
State Building this morning — with the guman killing an innocent
bystander before he was fatally shot by police, sources said.
There
were a total of 10 people struck — and the 9 a.m. shooting sent
panicked pedestrians scrambling from the jam-packed intersection of 34th
Street and Fifth Avenue.
