APD steps up patrols for security

Austin (KXAN) - Austin Police say a man phoned in multiple threats to 911 Saturday threatening to shoot people at Zilker Park.
APD said the man called around noon saying he had automatic weapons and that he planned to kill women, children, and police officers at Zilker Park Saturday.
Officers closed Barton Springs Pool around 2:30 p.m. and reopened the pool an hour later.
Police said they have not found the man responsible for the threats and are currently investigating.

Zilker Park Helicopter Landing paid for the F1 Rich

Update, 10:37 a.m.: Austin police say the death of a man found near Zilker Park this morning is not considered suspicious. No other details were immediately available.

The body was discovered in a waterway near the intersection of Robert E. Lee and Barton Springs roads about 9:30 a.m.
It is not immediately clear if the death could be considered suspicious, police said.
“It’s very early on,” said Austin police spokesman Anthony Hipolito.
