Lakeway Police say a 46-year-old woman has been charged after she walked into a house and threatened to kill a 5-year-old boy because she believed he was the Antichrist.
According to Police, on Jan. 27 at approximately 1 p.m. Beth Ann Straley entered a residence located in the 200 block of Varco Drive, through an unlocked door.
Straley confronted the babysitter, displaying a semi-automatic pistol and demand the whereabouts of the homeowner, who is also the boy’s mother. The babysitter was able to disarm Straley.
After losing control of the pistol, Straley fled to a residence in the same neighborhood and confessed to the people there that her intent was to kill the man and woman of the home and their 5-year-old son, whom she believes is the Antichrist.
People say the family Straley threatened, were long-time friends of hers.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Straley. She is charged with burglary of habitation.
Court documents show Straley was evaluated by a mental health deputy of the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
Neighbors in the community say she was a nice lady. They say she was active in the community and even cared for children inside her home.
She does not have a criminal history.
