Shepard Fairey Makes Money off Gun Issue

Shepard Fairey will release a new print titled “God Saves & Satan Invests” (detail above, in full below) for sale on his site, with part of the proceeds from sales going to a group advocating for gun control. “I’m not a big fan of the absurd abundance of guns in the U.S.,” Fairey writes on his blog. “I’m also perplexed by the claim of much of the nation to have ‘Christian values.’ If god tells us to love our neighbor and not to take another human life, where do the assault weapons and piles of ammo fit into these ‘Christian values’?” from artinfo.com

The artist continues to use unoriginal communist propaganda style images in his work to promote what he thinks hip culture will buy.

Shepard Fairey art style should show you how little Americans who buy his work know about the art used in communist propaganda poster.

He also seems to be pondering "Christian Values" while supporting a value that wants you become a victim.

Shepard Fairey needs to read about the villagers who are fighting back against drug cartels and corrupt police.  Mexican Villagers Fight Back

The villagers are not turning in there guns anytime soon.

   So does that Satan investing in assault weapons and high capacity magazines count for the Department of Homeland Security and their recent order for 1.625 billion rounds of rifle and handgun ammo, 2,700 MRAP vehicles, 7,000 “personal defense rifles” (assault rifles for the regular citizenry, and their order of “no hesitation targets”?

   No one should buy this, regardless of how they feel about gun control. The image is all wrong, combining an AR-15 front site with an AK-47 magazine.Typical of the ignorance and false data that is being passed off as gospel these days.
   By the way Mr.Apple, the “personal defense weapons” that DHS ordered are not the same “assault weapons” they are trying to ban for civilians. Their personal defense weapons are actually real assault rifles, with the capability to bee fully automatic (ie. Machine guns)

   Who cares? While a nice guy, Shepard isn’t an artist. He’s barely a graphic designer with excellent PR skills. He knows less about constitutional law than my infant son.

   If you stand back a bit, where you can’t quite read the words, it reminds me of a poster from the Soviet Union propaganda.
